Alpine Programs

Phase 3

Skier's age: Girls 10-13 years old, Boys 11-14 years old
Years in skiing: 4-8 years

Phase 3 skiers are in the heart of their motor skill development, and this is a perfect time to emphasize the evaluation and exercises within SkillsQuest. The drills for this phase reflect the increased motor skill capabilities of skiers from phase 2, requiring them to demonstrate greater coordination, agility and balance skills with a blending of more complex movements. At the end of this phase, skiers must have a broad base of skills with an emphasis on good skiing habits.

The Skiing Skills Assessment exercises for this phase are:

Pole Jumpers in a High Tuck (Pressure)

One Ski Skiing (Edging)

Pivot Slips (Rotary)

Freeskiing with Lane Changes (Balance)
