BIOGRAPHY:
Following a year of college, snowboarding was calling Paul Brichta's name and he just couldn't say no. The young gun moved to Colorado where he trained with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and by the end of the 2010 season was landing back-to-back 1080s. In 2011 Brichta made his way around the globe, knocking out a trio of World Cup 14th place finishes in big air, halfpipe and slopestyle. Brichta also made his debut at World Championships in Spain where he competed in all three disciplines.
PAUL SAYS:
Last season was a fun and interesting season for me. I was able to compete a lot and travel to many cool, new places like Barcelona, Spain, and Calgary, AB Canada. I was riding my best all season at the Mammoth Grand Prix when I suddenly broke my collar bone. It was a tough injury to overcome because it kept me off the snow for the rest of the winter, but I stayed positive and now I'm working harder than ever to come back even stronger next year.
FIRST TRACKS:
Paul's first memory on a board was when he was 8 years old. He and his neighbors all got snowboards for Christmas and they immediately starting snowboarding in their backyard. They also cruised the local hill in Minnesota.
OFF THE SNOW:
You can find Paul frisbee golfing, playing basketball, tennis, soccer, golfing, skateboarding, jumping on trampolines, and during the off-season he goes to the gym quite a bit to stay in shape.
