BIOGRAPHY:
Skiing is in Seppi Stiegler's blood. His father Pepi is a three-time Olympic medalist – including slalom gold in 1964 for Austria and older sister Resi is a long-time member of the women's U.S. Ski Team.

Choosing the collegiate route proved to be a good one for Stiegler, a recent graduate of the University of Denver with a degree in business management. During his senior year, he not only raked in the NCAA giant slalom title, but was named a First-Team All American and finished third in slalom at the 2011 Putnam Investments U.S. Alpine Championships, serendipitously matching his sister's slalom result. An invitation to the U.S. Ski Team's spring tryout camp in Mammoth Mountain, CA resulted in a nomination to the 2012 squad.

SEPPI SAYS:
"I didn’t have the best years at the beginning of college, but I was ale to turn that around, find my mental maturity and really start to excel in skiing. I was injured in 2010, so turning that around in 2011 was really fulfilling and something I'm hoping to take into the U.S. Ski Team program."

"I'm pretty lucky to have the support of such an amazing family. Hopefully now I can get into the realm of what they've been able to achieve."

FIRST TRACKS:
Mom and dad had Stiegler on skis by age 2 and into the Jackson Hole Ski Club program with Resi by the time he was six. "Skiing around and running gates with Resi was always a blast – it still is," he said. Given their top athletic program, the University of Denver was a natural choice to keep racing, but the business school fit nicely into Stiegler's career goals as well. Post graduation, it was onto the U.S. Ski Team.

OFF THE SNOW:
"Honestly, outdoor activity dominates my spare time. You can really do anything you want in the Tetons. It's total immersion in the outdoors. From camping to mountain biking and fishing, it's all here."
