      BIOGRAPHY
Vermont native Skyler Davis had a breakout year in 2012, taking a top-5 at U.S. Championships and making the U.S. Ski Team – all while battling mononucleosis. At just 19, the sprint specialist is tracking towards the top. After attending winter sessions at Stratton Mountain School in 8th and 9th grades, Davis moved there full-time as a sophomore working under renowned coach Sverre Caldwell. He rose quickly through the junior ranks with top finishes at Junior Olympics and a breakthrough junior podium at U.S. Championships in 2010. A year later he was third overall in the U.S. Championships classic sprint and won the Marriott Junior Championships freestyle sprint crown. This past season Davis contracted mononucleosis during fall training. As discouraging as that was, he remained motivated and still cracked the top-5in the U.S. Championship classic sprint in early January.

      SKYLER SAYS
Sports have been a foundation of my life. They have carved out who I am and the path I have taken in life. I love playing and watching almost any sport. I love the big stages and the excitement generated from them. I hope to have a successful career in cross country skiing and to generate excitement of the sport in the USA. Sports have given me all the opportunities in the world to see amazing places and to do something I love every single day.

      FIRST TRACKS
Davis was introduced to both snow and ice sliding sports by his parents when he was young, initially alpine ski racing, snowboarding, playing hockey and cross country skiing. After starting alpine ski racing at the Mt. Mansfield Ski Club in Stowe, VT, Davis tried a few Bill Koch Youth Ski League races and he was hooked on cross country. Growing up in the Green Mountain State, he looked up to role models like Vermont native Andy Newell and was inspired by the legendary coach and masters skier Murray Banks.

      OFF THE SNOW
In addition to his passion for skiing, Davis loves to surf, skateboard and travel. He also has a focus on his new business venture: StacItUp – Outerwear Clothing Company…(Can’t give details at the moment – Will launch this Fall).
