SPINDLERUV MLYN, Czech Republic (Mar. 25, 2017) – Chris Corning (Silverthorne, CO) hit the highlight to an incredibly successful season when he won the final FIS World Cup slopestyle event of the season on Saturday.

Corning was coming in hot off a double medal week at the World Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain, where he earned silver in big air and bronze in slopestyle. Spindleruv Mlyn is his second World Cup win—the first came at Cardrona in 2015.

Corning will remain in Spindleruv Mlyn for the Junior World Championships next week, where he is expected to be highly competitive after winning the junior titles in both big air and slopestyle in 2016.

The men’s 2017 crystal globe award for FIS overall slopestyle snowboarder went to 16-year-old Red Gerard (Silverthorne, CO), who had his first career World Cup win at the Mammoth Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in February.

Norway’s Tischendorf Fridtjof was second for the men on Saturday and Jamie Nicholls of Great Britain was third. Brock Crouch (Carlsbad, CA) finished just off the podium in fourth. Gerard and Judd Henkes (La Jolla, CA) also made the final, finishing seventh and 10th respectively.
