McMorris Tops In Snowboard Big Air, Willett 4th

ASPEN, CO (Jan. 27) – Mark McMorris took the grand prize in the Winter X Games big air snowboard competition despite a perfect 50 on one jump from second place finisher Torstein Horgmo. Each of the pair landed a tripple cork while Eric Willett (Breckenridge, CO) ended up in fourth place.
 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Mark McMorris won with a score of 80 drawn from the best two scores on two different tricks.
  • Torstein Horgmo, third-place finisher Sebastien Toutant and Eric Willett all had best two scores of 76 but other trick scores determined the final order of finish.
  • Eric Willett was coming off a Dew Tour Killington win last weekend.
  • The tour heads through Blue Mountain, ON in Feb. and the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Canyons Resort, Park City, UT.
