QUOTES Bill Marolt, President and CEO, U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association Across all sports, these are athletes that are well prepared to compete for medals in Sochi. It is a team of which America can be proud.
Each athlete got their start at a local resort and in a USSA club program. Hundreds of people who have touched these athletes’ lives. From mom and dad putting them in ski school as toddlers, to communities holding fundraisers, to the fans sending their best wishes through social media - everyone plays a role in athletic success. The belief of family, friends, communities, resorts, clubs and coaches all are pivotal parts of the journey to the Olympics. Without them, Olympic dreams would not be possible. That’s the spirit of Olympism.
Luke Bodensteiner, Executive Vice President, U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association We’ve had a solid Olympic qualifying period that has resulted in the selection of a strong team that is now carrying significant momentum as we head to compete in Sochi in less than two weeks. We have a blend of seasoned veterans who will provide leadership and a mix of young athletes who are ready to compete.
